About
Hello! My name is Michael Richardson. I am a college student majoring in journalism. As you can expect, I absolutely adore writing. In particular, I have a passion for writing about video games. From picking up my first controller around age five, I have adored interactive gaming my entire life and feel the need to share my thoughts about the industry. Therefore, I present to you Michael’s Blog - a culmination of my love of writing. Expect a lot of quality and detailed work, because you deserve to know the details of a product.

I will be posting reviews of games I have recently finished and or feel the need to address. I will be posting mainly during the summer, and cannot promise a lot of reviews come the school year so I can focus on my academics. Occasionally expect other thoughts on my passions such as food, traveling, and more to switch things up.

I really hope you become enthralled and educated with my work, and that it helps to brighten up your day.

Here is my grading scale which I will score reviews with
F-. An absolutely atrocious malevolence. To get this, a game has to either be unplayable, consistently terrible, or downright offensive.
F. An utter failure or exercise in mediocrity. The game doesn't do anything particularly well and seldom impresses.

D-. Decidedly average. Has few things to suffice, but not downright awful.
D. Okay at best. Sometimes delivers fun but is better off skipped.
D+. Not quite good, but better than okay. Has a few strong things going for it, but many frustrating design decisions.
C-. A good game. While it doesn’t necessarily impress, a lot of positive and negatives aspects that never culminate to truly impress. Few parts of it standout and benefit each other.
C. Good overall. A few aspects that it excels and struggles with. Worth a play if interested in the genre.
C+. Very good. A lot of aspects that excel and few that struggle. Worth a play if interested.

B-. A great game. Many outstanding aspects held back by some design decisions. A game that lays the foundation for a fantastic sequel.
B. Great game with a major complaint or many minor complaints that hold it back. Worth a play of slightly interested.
B+. Great game that amazes in many aspects but slightly disappointed in some. A huge accomplishment that could be amazing with more polish.
A-. An amazing game. Almost all major systems correlate with the experience. Some minor complaints that hold it back, but a must-play.
A. Nearly perfect. A high point of the genre with extremely few complaints, if any that are extremely personal. Leaves the player with a feeling of awe and influences the genre for years to come. A system-seller.
A+. Essentially a masterpiece. Extraordinaryly minor complaints that barely impact the experience or personal preference. Game is an immediate must-play.
A++. A masterpiece, hallmark, and triumph of the genre. A memorable, revolutionary, and once-in-a-generation experience that reminds the player about the majesty of video games. While no game is perfect, this game is as close as reasonably asked.
